Drinking Cup, 50-25 B.C. Additional Info: The cup has a tall concave body, an offset convex molding at the rim, and a convex lower body offset from the wall of the cup. It originally had one handle, now missing. The foot (narrow stem with central molding and a flaring base done in several degrees) is cast and was soldered to the bottom of the cup. Separately cast figures of two hovering Cupids (Erotes) were also attached to the cup. There was originally a third figure, but this figure is now missing and only the ghost of its attachment survives. One of the surviving figures holds a syrinx (pan pipes) while the other holds krotala (castanets).
