Mosaic depicting Saint Tarachus of Cilicia (martyr), Church of the Holy Saviour in Chora, Istanbul, Turkey, Byzantine style, 14th century. Tarachus was a retired military officer of the imperial armies. He was denounced as a Christian to the governor of Cilicia (in southern Anatolia).
