Statuette of a Muse, 2nd century A.D. Additional Info: The draped female figure stands frontally with left hip thrust outward, creating a S-curve with her body. She holds a partially unrolled scroll at her right hip and cradles a lyre in her arm against her left hip. The garment she is wearing falls off both shoulders. Her hair is pulled back into a bun at the back of her head and falls in coils on either side of the neck. A small cylindrical pin protrudes from the top of her head.
