To the right, a bull takes a peaceful rest under the same blue sky, its thin clouds represented by loose strokes of white paint. The bull is the symbol for Taurus, the zodiacal sign for much of April. Above the miniatures, the feast days and saints' days for the month appear in alternating lines of red and blue.
