Stanley, special correspondent of the New York Herald, at the sole cost of Mr. James Gordon Bennett, proprietor of that journal, for the relief of Dr. Livingstone from his forlorn position in the unknown wilderness of Central Africa, have been made known to all newspaper readers...we give an Illustration of the manner in which he marched across the country from the seacoast to Lake Tanganyika, attended by his gun-bearers, Selim, the Arab interpreter, the n**** boy Kolulu, and other servants'.
