Medals for the Vienna Exhibition: Francis Joseph I., Emperor of Austria, 1872. One of several medals designed by the sculptor J. Tautenhayn, to be given to exhibitors at '...the Great Exhibition of Arts and Industry to be held at Vienna next year,...by the Austrian Imperial Commission. [The obverse shows] the head of his Majesty, with the superscription, in German, "Francis Joseph, Emperor of Austria, King of Bohemia, &c., Apostolic King of Hungary;"...The inscription, "Welt-Aussteilung, 1873, Wien" (Vienna World - Exhibition, 1873), is repeated in each instance'.
