'Condemnation of Anne Boleyn', (mid 19th century). Anne Boleyn, her arms raised in supplication, stands before King Henry VIII, facing the court. On 15 May 1536, Queen Anne Boleyn (1507-1536), consort of Henry, was tried in the King's Hall in the Tower of London on charges of adultery with her brother and four other men, and of conspiring with them against the king's life.
