Models of rustic dwelling-houses at the Vienna Exhibition, 1873. Haüdorfer Peasant's Cottage; Vorarlberg Peasant's Cottage; Saxon Siebenbürg Peasant's Cottage; Siebenburg Seklerhaus...The model dwelling-houses of the rustic population in different provinces of the Austrian and German empires are not the least interesting part of the Exhibition...Those shown in a page of this week's paper are the interior of the Haüdorfer peasant's cottage, the Saxon Siebenbürger and Seklerhaus, and a cottage of the Vorarlberg. There is a picturesque variety in the patterns and fashions of household architecture, utensils, and costumes among the rural folk of upland and forest regions, both in Central and Southern Germany, as well as in the Tyrol and other Alpine countries under the rule of Francis Joseph I'.
