Each month occupies a page; on each page, letters of the alphabet from A through G identify the days of the week. The first month of the year features the two-headed Roman god Janus, the source of the name January. Another common classical reference on the calendar pages is the inclusion of zodiacal signs, such as the goat of Capricorn on the lower half of this page.
