Additional Info:The bust-length image of the prophet Isaiah appears within the initial D that opens the Mass for the Nativity of John the Baptist. A prophecy of Isaiah inspired the text of the chant introduced by the initial, De ventris matris mee vocavit me dominus (The Lord called me from the womb of my mother). The musical notation written above the text indicates the chant melodies.
