The Fourth Trumpet: The Darkening of a Third of the Celestial Bodies; Dyson Perrins Apocalypse, about 1255-1260. Additional Info: The blowing of the fourth trumpet heralds the extinguishing of a third of the stars, a third of the moon, and a third of the sun. The illuminator represented the scene so as to suggest that the air the angel blows through the trumpet causes the damage; quite literally, a third of the sun, moon, and stars is blackened.
